Throughout the year the Board of Directors provides important
leadership in policy and strategic planning for Alexandria House.

Judy Vaughan, Founding Director.

Nancy Berlin is director of California Partnership, a statewide coalition of community groups fighting poverty. She previously served as Program Coordinator for four years at Alexandria House, Nancy serves as President of the Board.

Lenore Navarro Dowling is an associate professor of English at Rio Hondo College in Whittier. Currently she serves on the Leadership Team of the Immaculate Heart Community.

Caroline Fitzgerald is a licensed hypnotherapist and volunteers to facilitate a variety of support groups at Alexandria House. Caroline serves as Vice-President of the Board.

Megan McGuiness Kerr is a member of the Immaculate Heart Community. She is a volunteer teacher and advocate for child development and parenting and advocate for child development and parenting education.

Teresa Lynch is a principal at St. Genevieve Elementary School and brings computer skills and project management experience to the agency. She also helps to coordinate the “Get on the Bus” experience that enables hundreds of children to visit their mothers in prison on Mothers Day. Teresa serves as Secretary of the Board.

Bridget McCray works in the area of development, especially helping with special events.

Ann Mulvihill works in the area of development, especially helping with special events. Ann also volunteers at the Orthopedic Thrift Store.

Yanti Palleschi is a stay at home mom and co-facilitator of the Residents’ Support Group. As a past staff member, Yanti served as Teen Coordinator and Resource Manager at the house.

Wilma Ramirez is a recent graduate from Mount St. Mary’s College where she acquired a B.A. in Liberal Studies. She is currently teaching 3rd grade in South Gate. Prior to this position, Wilma was the coordinator of the After School Homework Assistance Program. She is the first recipient of Alexandria House’s “Achievement in Education” Award that was presented in August 2003.

Olga Velez Sarabia has 32 years of social work experience, including her previous position at L.A. County-USC Medical Center. Olga is also an active parishioner at San Gabriel Mission, a Catholic parish community of Pax Christi. She is a part time instructor in the Social Work Department at CSU Los Angeles, Child Welfare.

Diane Chavez Sunderland volunteers in the After School Program at Alexandria House. Diane serves at Treasurer of the Board. Diane is also a member of the National Council of Jewish Women and a Vice President of the Sherman Oaks Garden Club.
